Personality: Before his change from the Xiaolin to the Heylin side, Chase craved power and to be the single best martial artist more than anything else in the world. That lust led him to trade his humanity for immortality and power, and to this day Chase continues to keep that drive to become stronger and more skilled in any and every type of combat art there is. With all he has learned, he prefers to fight with the power his own body and abilities can give him; although he is not above using tools to achieve his schemes or manipulate others further, he vastly prefers to battle with strength he can accurately call his own almost exclusively. This does include utilizing the power of the opponents he has trained and recruited into his own personal army.

That craving for power has led to cruelty and mercilessness in Chase’s personality, along with the tendency to look down upon those he does not think are worthy of his attention or respect. Even those who are capable of being (or becoming) major threats to him generally do not get the praises of Chase Young, especially not if they rely on anything other than their own assets to accomplish their given tasks. Sometimes he even visibly shows annoyance and anger when such incompetence is thrown into his face time after time – even resorting to violent means in order to get subordinates to follow his bidding on occasion – but overall he will show indifference to these people, not truly caring one way or another.

Still, Chase is not impossible to please. In the face of repeated successes that are not by chance and with the use of someone’s own strengths, he will show signs of respect and may even praise their efforts and skill. This is not restricted to only allies, for if he sees potential in an enemy then Chase is more likely to try and persuade said enemy to join him rather than to immediately destroy such a threat. With his plans to someday rule the world (as well as to spread evil everywhere he can), having someone strong and reliable at his side – by their own free will – is nothing but desirable to him. Even if the attempt fails, his respect for that opponent will last and he will still do whatever it takes to convert as opposed to vanquish and overpower.

Regardless of what he thinks of a person, Chase will generally not underestimate anyone – even those who are supposedly loyal to him. He is careful to make sure that he is fully aware of what any given person can do to him or against him, foiling plans or weakening them as he sees fit. Although part of this is the need to remain the very best of the best, it is also caution and self-preservation that drive him to do these things. Even an immortal wouldn’t survive 1,500 years if they did not have the basic wisdom of caution under their belt, even if it means that very few (if anyone) are actually trusted by him. He tends to find a rule of fear to be more effective.

He is manipulative, sadistic, and cunning. He will help others if it fits within his plans to guide them into doing his bidding, or if it means foiling the plans of another that he doesn’t want to succeed. But, even with his change to darker forces and alongside his need to be strong, Chase has an uncompromised sense of honour that is even stronger than the contract binding his soul to evil. Whenever a deal is made, and provided that the opposite end has not broken their end of said truce, Chase will follow it through to the end – even if there is much for him to gain simply by breaking his word. The same goes for when he loses a fight; it may be a heavy blow to his pride, but any loss is one he will take with dignity and will applaud the victor of the bout.

Evil, ruthless, honourable. Those are the words that fit Chase Young more than any others in the world.

- Keeps his word, no matter what the cost may be to him
- Insatiable lust for power

Strengths:
- Ambitious
- Cunning
- Willing to ceasefire/hold a truce if there is benefit for him
- Honourable
- Able to keep a calm and cool head in the heat of battle (most of the time), despite any taunting or provocation that may come his way
- Master Martial Artist
- Master Swordsman
- Master Strategist
- Master Chef
- Master blah blah everything ever blah HE’S HAD 1,500 YEARS TO MASTER EVERYTHING OKAY

Fears:

Random Traits That Don’t Fit Anywhere Else (plus Rizu is too lazy to write them out in the personality section)
- Loves cats? He turns all of his defeated opponents into Jungle Cats that work for him so... Yeah, he’ll be looking for some feline pokémon in the future.
- Evil is and must always be a choice for him. If someone isn’t evil by their own will, they’re as good as worthless to him. So the Team Rocket "microchip the pokémon into being obedient” thing isn’t something he’s fond of at all, to put it lightly.
